Nygone curled up a little tighter, peeking at Ebonys lone figure. With a small sigh, she fell asleep.

Later....
Claw awoke slowly he looked around at Nygone and Ebony who appeared to be asleep. He took one long sigh and headed up to the sand dune Ebony was on. he looked over and could see the sun just about to peak out. He sat down next to Ebony and stared off into the horizon.

Ebony had stayed awake. She noticed Claw was coming. She looked at the horizon. She was silent and her eyes glimmered. "What is it? Is Occo coming?" She didn't think Claw would come to her just to talk. She thought he would come for a reason. She stared down.

Claw looked over at Ebony "calm down its alright" he said looking back over at the horizon. "Beautiful isn't it? It sucks i can only see half of it" he said quietly hoping she would reply. He let out a sigh waved his tail a little before letting it set on Ebony's tail.

Ebony nodded a bit. "It does suck..it goes down..not up.." Her ears perkex up. "Half of it?" She felt his tail on hers and looked away. She dimmed her eyes. 'What is he thinking?' She glanced over at him. 'Half? Is he gonna die or something?' She turned towards him and then her vision got blurry. "Whoa.." She spoke quietly. Then she looked at Claw. He was just a blur. She felt wrak. Then she dozed out and plokped onto the sand.

He looked at her for a second and chuckeled "I guess you need some rest" he said softly. He nuzzled her and curled around her. He didnt know what he was doing or even why but he just did it. He closed his eyes and sighed " only half of it..." he whispered.

Ebony could hear Claw. Those words haunted her. Half. Only half. It was not enough. She winced a bit. Then a scorpion crawled from under her. She winced. That's why she fainted. Scorpion venom. It must have stung her. She spoke faintly. "The venom..my bloddstream.."

Claw heard her mutter something "what was it?" he asked softly. he could feel something crawling underneath them. he jolted up and saw a scorpion crawl out. he stepped on it and looked at Ebony "where did it sting you?" he asked frantically.

Ebony opened one eye. She could barely speak. It hur so bad. "Back..my..back.." She closed her eyes. The venom was invading her blood. What would happen to her if it all got into her body. She, for the first time, whimpered a loud. She then turned over on her belly.

Claw frowned and nudged her on her side "come on get up i cant help you unless you listen to me" he said trying to help her. He took a look at the squashed bug it didn't look like a dangerous one but it seems like it can cause some discomfort. He turned back to Ebony "you need to drink water and rest" he said.

Ebony pulled herself up, but stumbled. She rose up again. She stared into Claw's eyes and gave a low growl. "Don't worry about me..keep watch.." She stumbled down a sand hill and layed there. She tried to get up again, but stayed down. Her eyes dimmed. "You said you only get to see half of the sun set..what..do you mean.."

He nodded and looked back when she asked the question. "Ebony look into both my eyes and you will see why" he said moving back up to the sand dune. He took one more look at Ebony "only half" he said softly. He turned back to the beautiful scenery and sighed.

Ebony shook off the pain and rose up. She then slowly padded up the sand dune and sat close to him. "Only half..if that is the case..then let me fill in the other half. She licked Claw's cheek and then she curled up next to him. "We should justt spend the night away, not caring, but we can't leave Nygone, so you will have to settle for this moment."

Claw looked at her with some suprise and couldn't help to smile. He turned away and looked back at her "yeah your right" he laughed. He slowly layed down next to her he then looked back at Nygone "something is familiar about her like I knew her before" he said softly. He brushed up against Ebony and smiled..

Nygone woke up slowly as the setting sun cast light into her den. With a yawn, she stood and shook the sand from her fur. Slithering out of the sand, she spotted Claw and Ebony. The strong impulse to roll her eyes came to her mind, and despite herself, she snickered. (whoa! That was so.....sister like.)
