Raven yawned, slowly opening her dark purple eyes. Her ears drooped tiredly, the thick morning air making her drowsy even though she had just enjoyed a full nights sleep without any dreams of her sister, Victory. Victory. Will I ever see her again? Her mental connection with her sister told her she was still alive and somewhere in the Northern Mountains, but she had no idea where. The Northern Mountains were huge. We'll find eachother eventually. with another yawn, she dropped out of the tree, all four paws hitting the ground silently. Luxuriously, she stretched her wings, full, shimmering, beautiful. Six plus feet of night-black feathers on either side of her sleekly furred body. Turning her head, she froze. About twenty feet away stood another wolf, looking like they were just passing through. The wings! They've seen the wings! flattening her ears, Raven snapped her wings shut, backing away.

Dachio was strolling the plains like any other morning when he noticed the presence of another close by. He turned his head to see two large black wings connected to a wolf. He had never seen anything like this before. Before he could ask the wold had shut her wings closed and looked right at him. "Who are you?" he asked with authoritativeness in his voice. He froze in place as he watched the wolf he was still astounded by how odd this wolf looked to him. He kept his silver eyes fixed on the she-wolf she didn't seem like she was a threat, but he decided not to take any chances. He slowly approached her taking every step cautiously, she could be a new breed of wolf that had powers that he heard of.

Raven eyed the silver-eyed male cautiously, ready to bolt at any moment. Her ears raised slightly as she heard him ask her who she was. A freak. Mutant. Unnatural. A wolf with wings. How do you define that? "Is this your territory?" She asked, wondering if she was trespassing. "If it is, I can leave." Her voice shook slightly. Oh, where was her sister's brave calmness, her cool composure, her reassuring scent? Raven had never been a social kind of wolf because of her wings. She had little experience with others. Victory, on the other paw, was good at many things. Smart, likeable, skilled. Normal. Raven remembered the males's question. It would be impolite to not answer. "My name is Raven." She blinked her purple eyes, refusing to leave the shadow of the tree. Well, at least if this is his territory and I have to leave, I can go back to the Northern Mountains and find my sister...

Dachio moved closer to her, she seemed nervous and shy. He moved close enough to her that they were pretty close to each other. "No it's not my territory or anyone's don't worry" he said reassuring her. "My name is Dachio no need to be afraid of me" he said coming so close he could reach out and touch her. He looked over to her wings. "So you can fly right?" he asked curiously. He padded closer to her and touched her feathered wings with his nose which made him sneeze. "Excuse my manners I've just never seen a winged wolf before, although I have heard of wolves with powers never seen one like you before" he said interested in her. "Well what are you doing out here?" he asked with a slight smile trying to seem friendly.

Raven forced her legs to unstiffen and slowly relaxed her ears, blinking her purple eyes twice to calm herself. It's ok, alright, alright. He's friendly enough. Raven, though unhappy with how close the male was, forced her body to relax. Nobody's territory? But it's so nice and open....then again, the loners gotta have somewhere and I haven't seen much prey... She gave a little start as the male touched her wing. "Oh, yes, I can fly. I've got air magic as well as wings," she replied, looking over at him. "I can understand your curiosity....I'm not used to other wolves accepting me. Most if the ones who saw me were either scared, confused, or didn't know what to say or do around me." Raven looked at her paws, then back up in time to catch Dachio's small smile and next question. She cocked her head slightly. "I flew across the mountains to get here....the land beyond has no true name I am aware of...it was very hilly and had lots of little ponds. My sister crossed as well...."

Dachio looked back out toward where the land seemed to dissipate into an endless grassy plain. "You come from the land beyond here?" He looked back at her when she had mentioned a sister "What happened to you sister?" he asked tilting his head slightly. He normally wasn't into too many loners ,but this one seemed like she had an interesting story and to top it off she had magical powers. His silver eyes focused on her intently waiting for her answers to what seemed like and endless river of questions he was pouring out onto her. Another thought crossed his mind ,where had his mate gone he hasn't heard or smelled any sign of her precence for some time which was unlike her not to join him on a morning stroll like this. He turned his attention back to Raven "is there something i could help you with?" he asked figuring she needed help.

Raven looked back towards the mountains as well, imagining she was close enough to once again feel their majesty. Flying over the mountains had been like a dream; countless thermals and currents wove between and over the snow-capped peaks, the air cool and fresh. Eagles has soared with her, hunting calls echoing seemingly forever over the vast stone monoliths. On the other paw, Victory would have been faced with sickening drops, jagged paths, rockslides, and biting thornbushes as she strove to follow her high-flying sister. Prey was scarece in the mountains, shelter hard to come by. Victory's water magic would be of no help at all. Raven jolted back to reality as Dachio asked another question. "Yes, from over there," Raven looked back at the silvery male, "My sister is still on mountains, but she is on the same side as us." Raven had recently received a mental flash from Victory, showing the plain side of the mountains. "I've been here a while, waiting for her."

As the faint noises of voices slowly filled her ears, Akkina began to get more and more curious of what was around her. She rose up, letting the bones in her body crackle and spark into the soon to be action of walking. Her ears went down, as she yawned, her tongue curling upward and then hiding, as her mouth closed. Once she was full of energy and awake enough to walk, she began in a slow trot towards the voices. Letting the grass gently touch the bottom of her paw pads. Letting her curiosity take over her, she sped up into a slow run.
Then, hearing the voices clearly now, she stopped behind a near boulder that had sat, surrounded by tall grass. The last thing she heard was a female voice. "I've been here a while, waiting for her." Akkina kept her body at a low pose, not wanting to give away her position. Then she let her body slowly rise up, allowing her eyes to peer over the rock and see the two voices she had heard. "Oh." She let a small whisper escape her trap, as she saw her older brother, Dachio. Not paying attention to the other figure, Akkina slowly began to come from her hiding spot.
Then she sat up straight, displaying her pride and dignity that she showed when in front of others. She walked towards Dachio's way, keeping her eyes on the winged wolf who had stood near him. Then she stopped when she was five feet away from Dachio and a few feet away from the winged one. Her voice was more demanding, than nervous. "What's going on here?" She kept her eyes on the female and then she let them travel to Dachio.

Dachio's eyes looked over to see his younger sister coming towards them, she looked exactly like their mother. "Nothing sister, I mean Alphess" he said with a smirk. "I was just talking to Raven, she was just here when I was going for my morning stroll around here" he gave a slight point to Raven. "She has powers and wings as you can see and she's looking for her sister who seems to be lost somewhere, what are you doing here you usually never leave the pack grounds this early?" he asked looking at her with curious intent. His silvery eyes looked back over to Raven "don't worry this is my sister Akkina, she's the alphess of the nearby pack; the Hokiro pack you're welcome to stay with your sister as long as you both would like" he said with a friendly tone in his voice. "We don't get much visitors so it would be a delight to have both of you over" he said with a smile.

Raven's silky ears swiveled about, and she turned her head, catching the brown she-wolf in her purple gaze. Her ears twitched a bit, uncertain. She maintained eye contact with her as she approached, trying not to seem nervous. Alphaess! Oh gosh. No staring. she quickly lowered her eyes and looks back at Dachio. The wind rustled around her ears, teasing little breaths from the open mouth of the sky. Raven looked back up at Dachio, paying attention to his words. "That's very nice of you to offer me and my sister a den to stay in...I'm sure she'll love the idea once I find her." She confidently used the word 'once'. Her sister was stubborn and tough. She would be looking for Raven like Raven was looking for her. "Not meaning to pry or anything, but aren't you a little young to be an Alphaess?" Raven blurted without thinking, then winced. Her mother would have given her a solid thwack for something like that.

A light snicker left Akkina's muzzle, as her brother spoke to her, calling her 'sister' instead of 'alphess'. She didn't mind. She had missed being called something besides alpha, or alphess. Knowing that she was no longer a pup, but a alpha of Hokiro, she had to get used to the fact that her youngling days were over. Her right ear twitched, after being asked a question by Dachio. She clenched her teeth together, giving a crooked smile. Then she shrugged a bit. "Oh, eh, well. I was just taking a stroll, as you were. Since we have the guard around all perimeters of the pack..-" She didn't want to fill Dachio up with the business of war. He seemed to have everything under control in his life atleast.
Her smile became a bit more clear and understandable. Akkina looked over towards Raven, noticing what her brother had said was true. This wolf did have wings, the powers would probably not be a fib either. Then her once upbeat smile turned into a fragile look, as she heard about Raven looking for her sister. Her voice was clear and bright in tone. "Of course you may stay with us. I have open dens that I would just give away in a instant." She listened to Raven speak. Then Akkina gave a small welcoming nod.
Her smile turned into a slashed frown, as Raven blurted out a unnecessary question. Her ears lowered, looking away. Man, it only reeks because she isn't the first person to ask that.. Akkina gave a small snort, before answering her question with a forced smile. "No, I'm the perfect, young age to become Alphess. See, my brother didn't want the position.. so I took it."

Dachio looked at Raven then back at his sister after the remark, it brought up all the memories of the talk their father had shared with him. His eyes floated back over to the direction of the Leoni pack and he let out a sigh "I could never have been half the leader my dad was..." he thought to himself. He looked over to Akkina "don't be so modest mom and dad always knew you were the true leader out of the two of us" he said with a weak smile. The image of their parent's corpses haunted his mind many times even weeks after their death and burial. His tail drooped down and his ears folded back. His eyes looked at the two females and then darted back to the horizon he stared off at. "Maybe it's time to see what's been going on in the Leoni territory" he thought to himself. "Excuse me, I need to...go look for something" he said looking back at his sister. He kept an emotionless stare into her eyes "I'll be back.....hopefully" he said before he trotted off into the direction.

Raven's ears twitched, as if batting away an annoying fly. She felt that weird backwards movement of energy when Akkina mentioned that they had guards at their boarder. Her mother had always called this feeling caution. Raven called it apprehension. Her sister was unafraid of fighting, and both held talent in the area, but Raven was much less stubborn and brave when it came to battle. She smiled at Akkina, acknowledging her offer. Would it be offensive to simply disappear and not accept hospitality? Of course, if Victory found out about her conversation, there would be no way to stop her from going to investigate. Victory would be a better-mannered guest as well. Raven firmly clamped her muzzle shut and looked at the ground, ears drooping sadly. Her wings hung limply at her sides like they always did when she was sad. Why'd you have to squawk like that, huh? That's people's private business, and you've got no right to pry! If they're at war, that means their parents probably got killed. Great job being polite. "Sorry." She mumbled, still looking down. She could have said something else like ' I wasn't thinking' but there was no excuse for being rude. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Dachio heading towards the dark smudge of land on the horizon. Great job. You offended him and now he's leaving.
