A New Warrior (Iroshi Wolves)

Piyanth cautiously poked his head over the scent marks that lined the boarder of Iroshi territory. He had just arrived in this area, looking for a pack. might as well try this one out. The loners in the area didn't seem to worried about them. Acted like they were nice enough. With careful steps, he entered the territory, looking for a good, high spot to howl from. gotta contact the Alphas, tell them I'm here........ Spotting a suitable stone, he walked over. Crouching, he jumped up, claws grasping the stone, hind legs boosting him up. The top of the stone was a bit small, but it would do just fine for him. Tipping his head back, he let out a howl, his voice calling out to the Alphas, searching for a position in their pack. I hope they accept me. It would be most embarrassing if they didn't.

Alpha Male of Iroshi, Flaming Sunblaze, was spending some alone time. His two pups were certainly a handful, little Cannon Sunblaze being the most trying wolf he had ever met.
And imagine, he's my own son....not pack heir, of course. Cobalt takes that title. yawning, he laid his head down on his paws, preparing to take a small nap. Skies know I could use a good nap for once... he was just about to drift off into the land of dreams when a howl broke the air.
huh? Flame's ears pricked up. A wolf wants to join Iroshi! Splendid! Too bad he had to wait until I was about to take a nap though.... With the confident stride of an Alpha, Flame crossed through the bushes, pushing the prickly fronds out of the way. His sharp eyes spotted the howler up on top of a stone.
"Hello there!" Flame called. "I am Alpha Male of Iroshi. You wish to join my pack?"

Magnolia's gentle gray purple eyes watched as Cannon and Cobalt played together with Leopard and Bluefire's pups. Her ears pricked up and heard an unfamiliar howl. Magnolia looked around to see her mate walk away to greet the stranger. She turned to her sons, and spoke. "You guys behave." She said, looking at Cannon. She walked off into the bushes before the pups could respond. Magnolia saw the unfamiliar wolf on top of a rock and her mate. She walked over to the two, her head and tail lifted high, her ears straight. She stood by Flame and gave a friendly, polite smile to the newcomer. She gave Flame a gentle lick to the cheek before turning her attention back to the stranger. "Hello stranger, I'm Magnolia. Alphess of Iroshi." She said with a slight dip of the head. Magnolia then sat her rump down next to Flame.

Piyanth, carefully putting placing his paws so not to trip, scrambled down from the top of the big rock. Dipping his head, he walked up to the pair. "Hello there. You two must be the Alphas of Iroshi. My name is Piyanth. I come from far away to seek acceptance into your pack." in truth, Orlith's Pack, his birth pack, wasn't all that far away, but the lands south, where he had come from, could be notoriously difficult to , especially with the bad weather that frequented those parts.The tropical weather powered some big storms. It was weird for a Bank Islands Tundra wolf like him to come from the south, but, as his father had said, a species name is nothing bu ancsestry, and, after all, there were some pretty big mountains down south. Big and cold.
"I wish to be a warrior in your pack, if you will have me."

Flame gave a friendly smile to Magnolia, glad she was here with him to greet this new wolf. He looked like a trustful and worthy character, and Iroshi needed new members, but Magnolia, he felt, made the better decisions about members. Overall, he thought of her as the better 'social wolf' of the Alpha pair. He was more of a loner.
"Glad to meet you, Piyanth." Flame nodded his head slightly. "If you indeed want to be a warrior, which of course you can be, you must meet the rest of the pack, especially our other warrior, Angel's Nightmare." with a loud howl, he summoned the rest of the pack to him.

Hearing his father's howl, little Cannon Sunblaze bounced to his paws. "Come on, Cobalt!" he said. "Father's found something interesting! We should go investigate!" he took a few bounds towards the edge of the camp.
"maybe he found a bear! I've always wanted to see a bear!"

Magnolia waited until Flame was done howling for the new pack members. She turned to Piyanth. "It's great to meet you, Piyanth. I'm so glad you've joined." She gave a polite friendly smile. "I hope you enjoy Iroshi. I'm sure you and Angel will get along very well." She looked away, looking for her two sons.There was a nervous look in her eyes. Her tail started to sway side to side, anxiously waiting for her pups.

Cobalt rolled his eyes, and followed after his energetic brother, Cannon. As Cannon sprinted away, Cobalt shouted, still slowly walking behind him. "Don't be silly, Cannon. Dad can't take on a bear by himself. They're too big for just one wolf." He started to pick up his pace, until he was next to Cannon. He smelled the air as they ran towards their parents. "Cannon, I hate to disappoint you, but I don't think Dad killed a bear." He smelled their mom, dad, and a stranger's scent.

Bella and Takoda perked up their ears, and ran towards their Alpha's howl. They both walked out of the shadows, and saw the Alpha pair with a stranger. They walked up to the pair and both dipped their heads. Takoda spoke first. "Alpha Flame and Alphess Magnolia" He turned to the stranger. "I'm Takoda, lead hunter and this is Bella she's also a hunter." Bella gave a nod and a friendly smile.

Piyanth was more than happy to meet the other wolves. I hope we can get along just fine...I'm sure we will! I've never met a wolf I didn't like. being the upbeat wolf he was, most others found him very likeable.
"How many wolves live in this pack?" Piyanth asked curiously. He looked over at Magnolia to acknowledge her words before turning back to Flame. He spotted the two females, but neither of them was Angel's Nightmare.
"Nice to meet you, Takoda, Bella." Piyanth dipped his head politely. "My name is Piyanth."
Everyone here seems so friendly! I'm glad I ran into this pack. Sometimes the Alphas can be nasty. he was quite happy with this pack as it stood, even though something told him it was a small pack.
Size doesnt matter. this place was just fine.

Flame watched as Piyanth introduced himself to the hunters.
He's very polite....well-behaved. Also seems to have some sort of perpetual happiness hanging around him...nothing wrong with that. We could all us a little more happiness around here sometimes. the loss of his little female pup still hurt, in his heart. He was thankful for Cobalt and Cannon, of course, but that little female had been something else. Like a delicate little flower.
Speak of the devil.... Flame's sharp eyes spotted the little orange blur that was Cannon Sunblaze tearing towards them.

"I'm here! I'm here!" Cannon skidded to a halt beside his father. "Did you find a bear?" he spotted Piyanth. "Is he an intruder? Lemme at him! I can chase him out!" Cannon dropped into a crouch and growled at Piyanth.

Flame closed his eyes and looked eternally embarrassed.

Magnolia heard the loud paw steps approaching With a slight eye roll, she turned around to see Cannon run in. She shot Cannon a serious look before putting a paw in front of his body. She looked back down and spoke gently. "Cannon, behave. This wolf is now apart of our pack. I want you to make a good first impression." She said with a gentle smile before looking back at Piyanth. "I'm sorry about this little one, he's just so full of energy." She said with an apologetic and embarrassed smile.

Cobalt calmly walked until he saw his mom, dad, and brother. He sauntered on over until he stood next to his mom. He looked at his brother before turning to the new stranger. "Hello, I'm Cobalt." He said with a friendly smile. He then turned to his brother. "And you thought dad killed a bear." He said with a smug smile before sitting down next to his mom.

Piyanth chuckled as he heard the little orange pup speak. That's got to be one of the cutest things I've ever heard coming out of the mouth of a pup....or any wolf, for that matter. Piyanth liked pups. They reminded him of his younger days when he and his sisters froliced and played together.
"It's alright, Alphaess Magnolia." he said reassuringly. "We were all pups once." he crouched down at looked at the energetic pup. "What's your name, little warrior?" these two pups were obviously brothers and the sons of the Alphas. The orange one reminded him of Flame, and the blueish one, who had introduced himself as Cobalt, reminded him of Magnolia. It's also obvious which one is the troublemaker of the litter! he thought slyly. Ramoth had been the troublemaker of his litter, but Norrisa had done a fine job of causing problems as well.

Flame gave Cannon a look to tell him to behave, but did not speak. Magnolia had said all there was to be said to the energetic young pup.
It's nice that Cobalt gives a proper welcome....he's growing into a fine youngster. Flame was secretively glad that Piyanth took no offense. He wanted to expand his pack, especially since he had heard of unrest between two packs to the East.
A problem there could easily come here....

Cannon looked brashly up at Piyanth, but not aggressively. "If mother says you aren't an intruder, you arent one then." he declared. "My name? My name is Cannon Sunblaze, and I may not be the Alpha's Heir, but you still have to respect my daddy!" he made a big show of parading around his father's paws. "Cause my daddy is ALPHA!" he then pointed at Cobalt. "And that's my brother Cobalt Sunblaze. He's the Alpha's Heir, but he doesn't believe in bears."

Magnolia gave a stern look to Cannon. "Cannon, behave yourself! This is our newest pack member, and I want you to show respect for your older pack members." She gave a slight eye roll. Magnolia watched as Cannon paraded around his dad, she was a little disappointed with the way Cannon was acting but knew it was just him being a puppy. "Cannon, I think our newest member knows who the alpha pair and heir are." She said with a gentle chuckle. "Where are our other members?" Magnolia looked around, not hearing or smelling anyone coming closer. Magnolia raised her head and howled again, telling the wolves to come to where the alpha pair were at.

Cobalt glared at Cannon. He got up and walked next to Cannon who was still parading around their dad. "I never said that. To be the alpha's heir you need to be realistic about situations. Unlike you, I used my brain and nose." He said arrogantly. "If you had used what our mother gave us, our brain and our nose, you would know not to just jump to conclusion." Cobalt paused. "Of course bears are real, their scent is always lingering near the edge of our territory. I can smell them faintly right now, it reeks of bear." He said and made a disgusted face, wrinkling his nose.

Piyanth could tell this pup was a handful; bold, loud, energetic, and proud. He also knew, from past experience, not to take the little pup seriously.
He's just a pup for now, and will learn his manners as he grows. For now, his words aren't offensive. I'm rather too happy to be part of this nice pack to be hurt by one hyper pup! He chuckled innerly as the pup paraded around his father. "nice to meet you, Cannon Sunblaze." he replied politely. "And you, Cobalt." he dipped his head to the bluish pup, who was at the moment reprimanding his brother.
It is pretty obvious that Cobalt is the Alpha's Heir, even at this young stage. Energy can never be truely outgrown, from what I have seen. Piyanth had watched his uncle's pups grow; even though he hadnt seen them to adulthood, he knew that one of them was going to be a handful, that little male named Tori. I hope all my old friends are still well.

Flame put out a paw and kept Cannon from proceeding in his parade and causing any further damage. "Please excuse Cannon....he's high-energy." Flame glared down at his cheeky pup. He fell silent, listening to Magnolia's howl.
It's odd for everyone to be so scarce....at least Bella and Takoda showed up. He looked over at the two females. Cobalt called him back to the current Cannon-caused problem.
Cobalt's growing into a fine youngster indeed, feeling the responsibility to remind his brother of the respect due to other members of this pack! He nudged the pups apart. "That'll be good, you two. Cannon, show some respect. Cobalt, I'll take it from here." he gave a quick nod of thanks to his pup.

Cannon squeaked as Flame trapped him, but didn't cause any further calamity, contenting himself by glaring at Cobalt. He looked back up at Piyanth as he introduced himself.
"You've got an interesting name." he said, now ignoring his father. "How do you spell it?" he wiggled free of his father and padded over. "My name's pretty simple. C-A-N-N-O-N. Sunblaze is a bit more complicated. That's my surname. Not everyone has a surname." he looked seriously up at Piyanth. "Daddy says that his daddy gave all his pups different surnames so they would remember that they were different wolves with different personalities and different wants."

Magnolia inhaled deeply, waiting for everyone to show up. Her impatience was growing, her tail wagging back and forth against the ground. She watched as her two sons squabbled and as Flame broke them apart. She thought to herself. I hope that Cannon learns to control his... Energy and cockiness. Cobalt, however, is turning into a well behaved young wolf. He's perfect for the Alpha position. Magnolia had always been a little worried about Cannon though. Cannon had a high energy level and couldn't control his tongue. This worried his mother deeply.

Cobalt glanced back at Cannon, who was glaring at him. Cobalt rolled his eyes before walking back towards mom. He set himself down by her paws and looked rather arrogant at the moment. Cobalt listened to Cannon ramble on and on about his name. He rolled his eyes again as he listened to Cannon. Then he thought to himself. Can my brother ever shut his muzzle? For goodness sakes, the new wolf doesn't need to know our life story. Which was quite short, considering both Cannon and Cobalt are a few months old. Cobalt laid down between his mother's paws and put his front paws over his ears, trying to block out the sounds.
