Learning To Climb (open)

A grey figure slowly approached the base of a large mountain. His eyes fixed upon it's ledges, its cracks, and its height. He looked for a starting point at the base of the mountain. He examined it carefully before he jumped up and grabbed hold of a small ledge, but his weight caused it to collapse and he fell back down to the ground. He growled slightly before getting back up. "There must be a way I can learn to climb this" he said to himself. He looked for a sturdier ledge to start off from to be able to start climbing higher. He sighed looking up the mountain, the height worried him a fall would defiantly kill him and an avalanche would be worse especially being out alone with nobody to help if anything happened. He sat down and carefully examined the rest of the mountain with a curious look on his face. He carefully waited before making his move to start climbing.

Up above on the slope, another wolf was descending. It was a she-wolf, with a coat a dark purple-black like the night sky, satin like and smooth. Her eyes were a startling bright white, with white marks around them. She often would look to the sky, as if searching for something among the puffy clouds. Pebbles clattered under her paws, rolling down the slope once dislodged from their homes. She had been traveling for very long, over the entire mountain range. Her paws were sore from the hard stones, her legs tired by all the climbing up and skittering down.
to feel grass under my paws again..... she sat for a moment's rest, daydreaming. and to swim in a gentle lake.... the lakes in the mountains were small and cold, their streams turbulent and swift.
Only a few more bounds and I will be able to see plains again! And forests! rejuvenated, she got to her paws and bounded down the slope.

The male looked over to a female that was coming down the slope, she looked exhausted to him. "Hey you there can i ask a favor of you" he said running over to her. He looked at her carefully sshe looked as if she had climbed this mountain not to long ago. "Do you know how to climb" he asked her curiously. He was hopeful that she would say yes he could use a skilled teacher to help him. His eyes gazed back up towards the mountain once again, it looked challenging and tempting. He looked back at her awaiting her answer.

The she-wolf listened to the males words with curiosity. Why does he want to climb the mountain? Where is he going? There's nothing beyond the mountains more than what the scents on the wind bring to me. her paws were weary and sore. The last thing she wanted was to turn around and undo her travels, but this wolf didn't seem like he was going anywhere quickly. Amybe he just could us a little mountaineering lesson, and be on his way?
"yes, I know how to climb. Why? Are you trying to the mountain range?" she looked behind her, back up at the tall, grey peaks. "there's nothing out there that's not here." an idea sparked in her mind. as long as I'm looking for my sister....I might as well be friendly. He might have seen her! She's, ah, very, very hard to miss.
"I can help you."

He looked at her a little strangely "really?" he asked. "What do you want in exchange if you teach me then" he asked suspiciously. He was quite interested in why she seemed like she wanted to help him. He looked back up at the mountain peak, his curiosity urged him even more to climb the rocky mountain. "Well where do we start" not waiting for her response for an exchange. He dug his claws his claws into the ground in anticipation before taking one huge leap for the ledge, this time he caught hold of it and slowly pulled himself up. "Is this a good start?" he asked smiling down at her.

Rainy
Silent One

As she watched the two wolves in the distance, Rainy pondered on the thought of going back to Gugi. Then she watched, as the male had climbed the mountain. Rainy had always liked a challenge. Maybe if Star wasn't too far away, she could get her to watch, as Rainy climbed the mountain all by herself. It would probably impress Star. Maybe not. Rainy put her ears down and then watched as the wolves began to talk again. Rainy came out from behind the rock, where she had been hiding. Then she padded towards the mountain, but a little ways from the two wolves. She didn't want to distract them from whatever they were doing.

"Okay. I can use my powers to levitate rocks below me, to lift me up.. or I can climb the old fashion way.."

Rainy didn't take much thought on her choices. She just tried it using her powers. It was risky. If she lost control, she might plumit to the ground and then 'SPLAT'. She tried not to think about it. Then she looked over and saw some rocks near her. She focused and the rocks began to float over to her. She looked up and stepped on one of the floating rocks. Then she positioned them to where she had all four of her paws on each rock. She moved slowly up. Then she took in a deep breath.

"Okay. Just focus. It can't be that hard.."

She floated up slowly. Then she looked around. A smile grew on her face. Then she felt the rocks lifting up faster than expected. Before you know it, Rainy was rocketing into the air. A yelp came out, as she was in mid air.

"W-Whoa!"

Then she made the rocks stop. She tightly closed her eyes and the rocks stood below her paws. She opened her eyes and fear stared her in the face. She was higher than ever. The wolves below her looked like two ants. She looked down and frowned.

"..Um.."

The she-wolf laughed a little bit. "Oh, you don't need to pay me or anything, but I would like to ask you a few questions. Im looking for my sister, you see." she looked off to the valley, so close by. "she crossed over the mountains, and I've been following her. We're very close." She and her sister shared a mental bond, one strong enough for them to sometimes feel eachother's emotions. That bond had been her guide across the perilous peaks. She stepped back a little bit, watching the male leap. He's strong, strong enough to climb, but can he hunt? Has he ever mountaineered before? Something tells me not.
"Well, I would advise taking numerous small jumps over one big one. It's saves energy and is safer. Also-" she was cut off as a pile of rocks came whizzing up the side of the slope.
"What the?" Was there a pup on those rocks?? she took a step back. How in all of Earth.... She was familiar with magic, being magical herself, but she had never seen levitation before. Without even moving, she sent a mental picture of the frightened pup flying up into the air to her sister.
Who knows if that pup can handle this situation? Better safe than sorry.
Raven said she'd wait for me on the other side.

"What does your sister look like?" he asked curiously. "What's her name? maybe I met her before" he said softly. He then looked up to see the pup up in the air on what appeared to be a couple rocks. The fact that the pup possessed such powers interested him. Powers was something he encountered very often meeting many new wolves traveling around. There was something unusual about the pup that made him want to catch up to her and maybe talk to her. He looked back at the she-wolf "well I guess I have something to make me climb now" he said grinning before leaping up and hooking his large claws onto another ledge and climbing up faster. He pursued the pup quickly hoping she wasnt about to fall because he wasn't close enough to make continuous jumps to catch her.

Rainy
Silent One

There was two things wrong with the fact that Rainy was stuck where she was. She was stuck, obivously and now one of the wolves was coming up to get her. How embarassing. Rainy blushed a bit. Then she tried to pull herself up, just to make it seem like she was in a bit of control. She watched, as the male climbed up. Then she gave a call to him, not trying to be rude in anyway.

"Don't worry. I can get down myself. Sorry.."

She looked down and then she wiggled her fingers a bit and the rocks began to slowly decend in more of a diagonal way. Rainy gave a sigh of relief and then looked down to see how far she was from the ground. She was a distance. A tick of self satisfaction ran through her body. Then, once to the ground and able to jump down, the rocks dispersed from under her and she hopped off. The ground was basically her god. She had never wanted to fly again. She had noticed that she landed next to the female wolf. She gave her a quick glance.

"Um. I'm sorry if I disturbed you. I was just..trying to get ont he other side.."

Giving a look at the male, she yelled to him as well. Then she gave a look of sorrow to him. "Please, stay there. I will help you down, being it was that you climbed for me.." A bigger rock, near her, had begun to float up towards the male. Then it paused below him. Rainy, who's eyes glowed a pink color, spoke.

"Please. Step on."

"Her name is Raven." the she-wolf said. "I'm Victory, by the way." she was still watchIng the floating pup, who seemed to have gotten control of her floating rock, which was good in her mind, since her sister had seemed absent from the other end of their emotional connection. Maybe she's sleeping?
"My sister is black with purple eyes....." she decided not to mention the wings. "She'd be very hard to miss in the sunlight. Her fur shines like a raven's wing. That's where her name is from...." That, and the wings.
Victory watched the male run up the cliff towards the pup, who was floating herself towards her. She seemEd to have regained control.
"No need to be sorry." she said to the pup politely. After all, I think this counts as an accident. she watched the pup float a rock up to the male with a emotionless demeanor, but was very curious about what this magic was.

He shook his head slightly "Im fine, I was learning to climb anyway" he said continuing to climb. His body was aching to keep hold of the rocky surface beneath his paws. He looked down he was pretty high off the ground, then he looked at the top of the mountain he was almost there, but he felt as if he couldnt climb anymore. He wasn't too used to climbing like this, he looked back down at the floating rock, maybe its better if I get down he thought to himself. He took a small breath before taking the leap to jump on the rock. It rocked a little as he landed on it. It made him feel unstable on it, he looked back down and signaled to them he was ready to come down.

Rainy
Silent One

Rainy looked at the female with pleased eyes. She had never met a wolf that seemed so polite. Then she gave a nod and looked at the female. Rainy spoke in a more organized manner. She stood up straight, puffing out her chest a bit. Her tail stood up. Then she spoke.

"Why thank you. M-My name is Rainelese. You can call me Rainy."

Rainy didn't want to give out too much about her. Her name seemed to be enough to know about her. She had totally forgotten about the male. His voice hit her ears like a smack of water. He had said he'd been learning to climb. Rainy had lowered the rock a bit and then she stopped and watched the male. When he had leaped on the rock, Rainy pulled her full focus on the floating rock. She took a breath and slowly released it. As she did that, the rock began to slowly desend. Once it was close enough to the ground, Rainy left the rock alone. Her eyes had stopped glowing and she looked at the male.

"There. All safe and sound. Now, as I had said before. My name is Rainelese, you may call me Rainy."

Rainy looked at the male, refering to him. Being it was she had already said her name to the female. She figured she would tell them about where she came from and why she had chose to go up the mountain.

"See, I am a pup back at Gugi. The alphess found me, but I am still just a pup there. So I figured if I could get over this mountain, they would see me as more than just a 'pup'. Maybe not.. My magic is still alittle off."

"My name is Victory." she replied. "it's nice to meet you." she watched as Rainy lowered the male down from his rocky perch.
Her power is nothing I have every seen before, but then again, there has to be more things out there than air and water. Victory herself had water powers, her sister Raven, air.
"That's a peculiar power you have there, Rainy. I've never seen something to the likes of that before." Victory sat her furry haunches onto the pebbled ground. "Gugi? Is that a pack near here?" Victory didn't have that much of an interest in joining a pack, but her sister might have passed through pack territory. If she had, the members would have surely picked up traces of her.
Raven said she would wait....she's probably still among the foothills.... Something about Rainy's words raised a question. "Why? Does your pack not accept you for yourself?" That would be horrendous bad luck if Raven and I have landed ourselves in hostile territory....oh well. It's nothing i can't deal with. Victory took careful pride in her battle-skill, even though she chose it only as a last resort. She always kept herself sharp, ready fro anything.
