At this, Ripfang's ears flickered above his head. A slow smile crept across his maw, he now liked the way his father talked. He could become of great value to this pack, and this was his time to shine. He gave Lash and demon-like look in which she returned with great pleasure. They had been trained by some of the most skilled wolves they would probably ever meet, they were ready for what these puny Hokiro or wolves brought to them. Although, he didn't know what the war was about. He was eager to know, and Lash seemed to read his mind.
"What caused the war? Did they start stealing prey, or worse, pups?" Her voice came out deep, sophisticated, well, as much as she could muster at her semi-young age.
Vera looked at her pups in turn. They all looked interested, that was good. She just hoped the ravenous looks they shot each other wouldn't always be like this. Sure, she wanted them to be tough and worthy opponents, but not killers...

"That's right!" Scar rumbled deep in his chest. He had Seen the look passing between his pups and felt the old, wild thrill got through him. The old bloodlust. "Horkiro has always been the enemy of Leoni, pushing us from their lush lands and out casting us into this wasteland we are forced to call home." Scar growled. "Alpha Night has his reasons for wanting to wang war on our longtime enemies. His choice goes unchallenged. Trouble was stirred on the border a while ago, and trouble has remained." He could feel his fur bristling a bit, so he calmed it down and sat. "Horkiro deserves what they're going to get."
Tyra listened to her father speak. To her, it sounded like Leoni had no real reason to attack Horkiro, but she didn't care. If there's only room enough for one pack in this land, so be it. she looked at her parents. "Is it known when this invasion will occur?" She asked in a soft but strong voice.
