Silver managed to gasp out, " NO! Get.... Away...." she flung herself at Star at the same time trying to hold herself back, she thumped to the ground, snarling. She launched herself at the tree instead and sank her teeth deep into the bark. She ripped at the wood with her claws before falling back and charging the tree again, rearing and slashing the branches.

Star was pushed b Silver. She knew something was wrong inside her head. And she wasn't going to let it take over her Beta. She ripped Silver off the tree and pinned her down. She set each one of her paws atop of Silver's legs and looks down into her eyes. Star looked up at tue sky and howled to the spirits watching them. She would not le them take her friend away by sending a bad spirit or whatever it was.

Silver thrashed angrily, trying to get at Star. she jerked her head foward and bit Star's muzzle and threw her off. She staggered to her feet and shuffled around a bit, as if confused. her eyes spotted Star and she snarled again, staggering.

Star growled again. "What... is.... wrong with you?!" She leapt on Silver again, trying better to keep her pinned. This time Star kept her mouth out of reach of Silver.

Silver shrieked like a banshee and thrashed under Star, trying to bite her. She shuddered and threw Star off her before limping away, her deranged snarls gradually fading.

Star panted as Silver waled away. What was wrong with her? She shook her head and padded back to the camp. Once again, she curled up in her den but this time she fell asleep.

Silver wandered around the territory edge for a while, leaving a path of ripped branches and torn ground. she was walking back torwards the camp when the maddness left her and she fell down into the small ravine. she landed with a loud thump and lay there, terrifyed.

Silver lay in the ravine untill morning. As the sun rose, she dragged herself into the shelter of a bush and assessed her injuries. " what happened? I was doing so well...." she hide deeper under the bush. " they're gonna kill me..." she whimpered and put her paws over her muzzle.

Star rose to her paws and stretched. She put her head outside of her den and sniffed the air. It had seemed Silver hadn't come back to camp. She couldn't be far from where she last saw her.
Star came to the ravine and put her nose to the ground. Silver's sent lead into the bush. Star slightly poked her head in. "Silver? What happened back there? And come out of that bush, please."

Silver wimpered and shoved herself deeper under the bush. " no! You'll kick me out, or kill me! This is just a trap, this niceness! It's happened before! They won't trick me again!" her voice rose to a hysterical pitch.

Star growled. She felt bad for this wolf. "I am nice for a reason! My parents abused me and my brother! My goal was to care and hear everyone out before I judged them." Tears started to creap out of the corners of her eyes. Her voice became weaker. "And.. and, my parents did that to me. They thought I was different because I taught myself how to hunt and ran away for short periods of time. They punished me..."
She sat down. "Now, get out of the bush."

Silver crawled out from under the bush and crouched in front of Star. " B-b-but the others...... They'll kill me if they find out." she shivered." Javo and I were going to help each other, but not she's gone...."

Star looked down at her paws and shook her head. "The others won't find out. Not until you are under control." She looked back at Silver. "I will help you. I will not have one of my wolves lose hope."

Silver nodded, keeping her body low to the ground. Shivering, she turned and began to groom her mussed and ripped fur.
