Summit heard Stomcloud's cry. "Stormcloud!" he ran torwards her voice, when suddenly a branch fell from a tree. he tryed to dodge, but it hit his hind leg, breaking it and pinning him to the ground. he let out a angonized howl.
"Daddy!" Stormcloud cried.

Larka heard the commotion outside and decided to go and help. She ran over to Summit and tried to lift the branch on her own but couldnt. "Stormcloud I need your help lifting this branch."

Stormcloud ran to help." we will get you out daddy." she growled, and pushed at the branch.
Summit nodded and braced himself to pull his leg from under the branch.

With Stormclouds help they got the branch to move. "Ok you cam pull you leg out now." she huffed with the effort of talking and holding the branch at the same time.

Summit scrambled out from under the branch. He winced." my leg is broken." Stormcloud looked around. "let's just find shelter." she looked at Larka." put the branch down and help me move him under that overhang."

Larka let the branch once everyone was out of the way. She then gently grabbed Summit and helped Stormcloud move him under the overhang. She didnt know what to do about his broken leg.

Stormcloud looked at Summits leg." no broken skin." she fretted," but I don't know how to make a splint!"

Larka was no healer but she remembered from long ago that her babysitter had showen her how to make a splint. She looked at the other tow wolves and said "Stay here I will be Right back." with that she took off and found branches that were sturdy enough and Some vines that were strong enough. She then ran back with the supplied that she had found. She approached Summit slowly and said "this might hurt." She waited for a reply.

"okay." Summit gritted his teeth." I'm ready." Stormcloud gave him a reassuring lick.

Larka wrapped Summits leg as gently as she could but she knew it hurt him. When she was done she looked at Summit apologetically. "I am sorry that it hurt you. How does it feel now?" She smiled a little.

"Better," Summit winced. "a little better."
Stormcloud looked at the sky." we will most likely be stuck here for a while."

"I am happy that it feels a little better." She then turned to Stormcloud "That is ok. I just hope it does not get worse."

Stormcloud flinched as thunder boomed through the sky." get some sleep if your tired. I'll watch the sky."

Larka nodded and then laid down not that far from Summit. She laid her head down and fell into a light dreamless sleep. About half way through the night she woke up and found Stormcloud still awake. She padded over to her and said "I can watch the sky now. You need sleep."
