Angel got up and padded into the den. She scooped up the little pup gently away from her mother so she had some room and placed her at her paws. For a few minutes, she rubbed patted, and thrusted at the small bundle of fur.

Flame stared pacing outside the den, feeling distressed. He growled to himself and continued pacing.

Magnolia watched as the little female was pulled away from her. She had a worried look on her face as she lay there, watching Angel help her daughter.

Angel made a chiaking sound as she pressed her ear the the pups belly. "I... I..." She licked the pup. "I couldn't save her. Her lungs wer just too defoarmed." A tear rolled down her face as she looked at Magnolia.

Magnolia looked at the little pup, lying still on the cold floor. She just stared at her only daughter. A tear drop slowly went down her cheek. She was able to collect her thoughts for a moment. She looked up at Angel, tears forming in her eyes. "Thank you..." Magnolia's voice began to break. "Thank you for trying, Angel... You did your best." She looked back down at her daughter, she had already had hopes and dreams for her... They hadn't even named her before she passed away. Magnolia just laid there, just staring at the little pup.

Flame crept down into the den, tears in his own eyes. "you tryed your best, Angel. Nobody blames you...." hesat next to Magnolia and nuzzled her head. His mind was in a turmoil, and a certain old memory came to mind. Fathomless Darkness, standing over him as he lay on the ground after shoving his father into the path of a charging bull elk. Fathoms cruel smile spread over his mind, forming the words "he deserved it. He was never fair to you. Never forgive, brother, never forgive." Flames hackles rose. Memories began to pour forth, his mothers death y his crazed sister, hunting his sister with Fathom, and more.

Magnolia just kept staring at her lifeless daughter. She jumped slightly when she felt Flame's touch. She then nuzzled him. She felt like her heart was going to explode.

Angel stood up wearily and pushed the little pup to her parents. "Sorry.." Her voice drifted into the breeze as she padded out of the den.

Magnolia turned to Flame. Tears slowly coming down her cheeks. "Where shall we bury her?" Magnolia never imagined saying those words right after she delivered her pups.

Flame was snapped out of his memories. That was the past. He firmly told himself. No use dwelling on it. "how about under the cherry tree at the camp edge? She reminds me of the flowers...." Fathom reared in his mind again, snarling. Flame pushed the tide back, but it remained, a haunting background.
(basically, Fathom brainwashed Flame when they were younger. Flame broke away from Fathom and fled across the desert to get away from the memories, which are now coming back.)

Brightstorm forgot about her pups until they started yelping.
"Hush my little soldiers....hush....", two of the girls looked like Mudmist the male looked like her and the other pup a mixture.
"Mudmist? What should we name the pups?"

Magnolia gave him a puzzled look before he answered. Her voice was low and quiet. "That's a perfect place." She got up wearily and picked up the dead female. She started to walk towards the entrance of the den, waiting for Flame to help her bury the pup.

Flame walked up to the tree, trying not to look like a zombie. It took all his will to not bang his head into the tree in hopeless frustration, and his mind wasn't helping. The Fathom inside his brain was coming back.
(just givin Fathom more enimies.....XD)

Magnolia went to the tree. She looked at Flame for a moment. Something didn't seem right with him. She gave him a soft nudge. Her voice was quiet yet had a worried edge to it. "Flame, are you alright?"

Flame jumped. "I guess I'm just in shock...." he trailed off. "i will get over it." he said."it's hard...loosing a pup...." he tried his best to ignore the nagging in his mind. He nuzzled Magnolia."I'm fine."
