[Feral Alchemist]

The sun was setting over Leoni. The last reds of the sky fading and the inky blues of the night painted the barren lands in a ghostly light. The black alphess of Leoni padded from her den in a cluster of boulders. She leapt up onto the highest boulder which was currently occupied by a couple of vultures, with a low growl and a snap at the pair, they flew off with a screech as Sullivan took her perch on the boulder. Her deep purple and silver eyes flickered across the horizon, they narrowed, wondering where the other pack members had gotten to. Even more so she wondered about the Nightmare Trios whereabouts, as usefull as they were, they had a knack for stirring up trouble where it wasn't needed.

Yes, it was the beauty of the day that usually brought Night out of his den. Being alpha, wasn't easy, nor was it hard. He stared around. This he saw his alphess, perched on a boulder. Night padded over to the boulder, slowly. His deep, dark red eyes were stuck on Sullivan. He finally reached the boulder, there he sat next to it and glared at the horizon. Saying nothing, but a slight giggle.

Sullivans eyes turned on Night as he came out of his den and padded up the boulders to her. Her den was one of the largest and warmest in the area. Where the rocks were smaller at the bottom of the den she had dug at them and down into the earth. She had stumbled on a small network of underground coves and had made an entrance to them as part of her den.

She watched as he couldn't take his crimson eyes off her till he sat next to her boulder and started at the horison. Soon the sun would disappear behind the barron landscape and the moon would rise into the sky. The days had seemed much shorter lately, it was good. She preferred the darkness of the night. It was when she was in her element. A small giggle from her side made her ears twitch. She didn't take her eyes off the horison while she spoke. "What's wrong? Night."

Night looked up. The night was setting in. "Nothing.." He watched the horizon begin to go downand the moon rise. He cracked his neck. "So, what exactly are you up to, love?" He said looking up.

Sullivan cackled a little and coughed out the word, "Love?" She had to admit, Night could be somewhat amusing. "Not much. Looking for trouble on the borders..." She curled her inky black tail around her paws. Practically all the wolves in the Leoni Pack were black. Herself, the nightmare trio and Night. They all had black pelts. She supposed it aided them well considering the pack lived in the shadows.

Night nodded. "Sorry, I just thought.." He stopped talking. Then he layed down. "Yeah, Leoni, does tend to have trouble." He said looking up. "So, what are we?" He said, rising up. "I mean are label?"

Sullivan grinned, showing her fangs. "I'm not known for being the most loving wolf." She laughed a little. "I could try showing some affection if you'd like but you'd be much more scared." She looked at him. "Label, you could say this pack is the nightmare in these lands. But it's much more amusing to come up with what our enemies call us. Evil, cruel, ruthless. Afterall, a label comes from what others think we are." A small breeze quivered through her fur, which surprised her more that anything. Leoni's weather was usually unusually still and lifeless, the air motionless and choking sometimes in the hot daytime. Still, a nice breeze could be felt now and again.

Night stared straight. "Sorry, Sullivan, I can try, but in the end, I fear no one." Night felt a slight breeze hit his face, as he stared seriously at nothing. He rubbed his head. "Yeah, but what about OUR label? Me and you. Not that it's a big deal, but.." Night really couldn't put up an exscuse to block this conversation.

Sullivan crushed the skull of a rodent beneath her paw that the vultures had been pecking at before she had chased them off her perch. "The alpha and alphess of a pack are naturally mates. I agreed to let you be alpha knowing that was the case." Her eyes became distant as she looked into the horison. "All my life i've experienced nothing but hardships, death and pain. I know nothing but that." She narrowed her eyes a little, the scar on her cheek stretched a little. "That's why i'm awkward and reluctant to accept you as a mate. I have little other feelings than hate since i know nothing else."

Night chuckled. "I know the feeling. I don't speak of this alot.. My brother, Doby? Well my purpose here is to make his life hell. My parents abandoned me, because of him." Night growled. "The more pain he is in, the better I feel." Night smiled.

"My only purpose is to take revenge on this world for everything that it's done to me. Even if it means tearing down everyone in my way." She suddenly started laughing. "You know, i'm glad you're alpha. Imagine the state this pack would be in if i'd gone insane and let that Scar be alpha." The thought was too funny to contain. "I'd much rather take a vulture as alpha rather than him."

A howl rose to the sky as Dawn the second of the Nightmare Trio bolted across the hard ground of Leoni, kicking up dust as she ran. She quickly came to the bottom of the boulders and bowed before addressing the alphas. "Alphess Sullivan. Alpha Night." She said before gazing up at them with her vivid violet eyes. "Rema Thorn has dissappeared from Leoni lands. Thinking it was odd, i followed her until i came to the city where i saw that she was stalking two wolves." Sullivan turned as her assassin Dawn came over. "Who were these wolves?" Dawn dipped her head again as she spoke. "I didn't catch the wolves names, one was a black wolf with orange stripes. The other was white with red markings a lot like your own Alpha Night." Dawn paused before continuing. "It seems like Thorn has something planned out for those two wolves. Recognising the markings on that white and red wolf i ran back to report it, thinking it may be important..." Sullivan looked to Night at the mention of a wolf a lot like himself.

Night growled as Dawn gave the news. "Like me? It can't be." Thorn must have ran off and met them, but who was the other wolf, Doby was with? Night growled. He looked away. "I don't recall it. Fine. Take us to these wolves." Night was quite convinced that his brother was here, but it has been years, since they last met. Night stood up. "My time has come..to make my brother's life hell." Night laughed evily.

Sullivan growled a little. Dawn dipped her head again. "Rema Thorn is hard to tie down and bind her to a particular place. While she will be loyal to Leoni she has a knack of running off and meeting the wolves that we need. My guess is that she had a feeling that the city would bring something Leoni needs and went there." Sullivan looked over to Night as Dawn continued to talk, it was getting interesting. "She's the deciever and as soon as she saw he had a look of the alpha probably planned to bring the wolf to Leoni..." Sullivan nodded with a slight growl. "Take your leave, Dawn. We'll see to this..." Dawn turned and ran off to her den in Leoni.

Hallow had found herself gradually being led by this wolf in a totally different direction than she'd planned to travel in. She still didn't trust Thorn, especially now that she'd led her into this barren wasteland. Thorn padded slightly infront of Hallow, she'd subtly taken lead of the two wolves and led them into Leoni. She imagined she'd get beaten by Sullivan for doing this without order but Thorn had had an inkling about the city for a while and by chance she'd stumbled upon a look-alike of the alpha and planned to lead him to Leoni.

Night said nothing. He prepared himself. He quickly ran onto a boulder that he could see everything from. His eyes narrowed as he watched from the shadows. He red eyes peered across the land, waiting.

Doby looked around. "This is a good..place.." He gulped. Doby peered around and stood by Hallow. He poked his head out. "Where exactly are we?" He asked.

Sullivan watched Night as he stood on a boulder that gave him a better view. She laid down on her belly, her forepaws dangling loosely over the edge of the boulder as she waited for the rema to return.

Thorn paused as they padde further into Leoni lands, sniffing the air and smelling her alphess nearby. She turned to Doby as he spoke. "Be thankful you're here on a good day..." Hallow growled a little, what did Thorn mean? This shady wolf came here often? Hallow felt like she recognised this place a little, feeling like she'd passed through here on the way to the city. It had given her the chills but for her life she couldn't remember why it had unnerved her so. Hallow looked to Doby with a face that asked 'why the hell are we following her?'

Thorn continued to walk, she saw Dusk laid on a rock while gnawing on a bone. The wild femmes eyes turned on the wolves following Thorn, her red orb and silvery pink cateracted orb gazed at them. Thorn growled a little at Dusk. "Never mind staring them out Dusk. They're not for you..." Thorn led them past the third of the Night Trio and over to Sullivan and Night.
